Why does my seasoned pan still stick to eggs?
Sticking often happens if the pan isn’t hot enough. Preheat on medium-high until a water drop "dances" on the surface before adding oil. For eggs, ensure the pan is well-seasoned and properly preheated.
Can I cook acidic foods (tomatoes, vinegar) in cast iron?
Limit prolonged cooking of acidic ingredients, as they can erode the seasoning layer. If cooking acids, clean the pan immediately after use and re-season if needed.
How do I remove stubborn food residue without damaging the seasoning?
Boil water in the pan for 5 minutes to loosen debris, then scrub with a wooden spatula or nylon brush. Never use steel wool, which scratches the surface.
Can I use soap to clean my cast iron pan?
Avoid daily soap use, as it removes the seasoning. Use warm water and a brush. For heavy grease, use a tiny amount of mild soap, then re-oil immediately.
